Began as equipment
operator performing new underground construction and repair, this included
complete site restoration from landscape and sprinkler repairs to hot and
cold patching asphalt. 1988-90. Advanced to service tech performing
customer trouble calls and trouble shooting outages as well as pulling
standby on a regular rotation 1990-94. Began as maintenance tech in 1994
performing all system related repairs and maintenance from signal leakage
to monthly end of line reports, ran system levels on 32 amp cascades and
helped service Tec’s with problem customers and work overloads. Performed
standby power supply and optical node testing on a monthly basis as well as
system sweep. Trained in and performed all aspects of fiber construction
and repair, aerial and UG, ( ISP/OSP ) well acquainted with the use and
operation of fusion splicers and OTDR’s.
1999 Transferred to network engineering as a project manager overseeing
the construction and repair of fiber optical ISP/OSP plant for AT&T
LNS. This job consisted of assisting in the closing of all trouble tickets
related to our system. To performing a job cost analysis for any proposed
new work and if accepted bidding the job to contractors, ordering and
tracking the materials for the job, working with the engineers to insure
all appropriate permits with local agencies have been submitted and
accurate asbuilds are updated. Overseeing construction on the job,
coordinating the project from start to finish, inspecting contractors daily
progress, tracking all job expenses from start to final closeout, to
working with locale municipalities to insure all their requirements and
concerns are met. Managed several contractors simultaneously from Olympia
to Blain. Most projects where awarded with short time constraints, able to
work with local municipalities to get job completed in reduced time
schedules.

Powercom over seeing telecommunications construction in a commercial
setting, involved the installation of cat 3, cat 5, cat 6, 25pr. to 1200pr
24 gauge copper cables and 2 strand to 288 strand single mode and multi
mode fiber optic cables. terminating and testing, and the build out of
pathways and MDU’s

installing structured cabling on fab 22 rebuild, as that project completed
I was promoted to Forman for the DAS system upgrade in fab 12, and
currently I am a Forman on the telecom project for the new fab 42. Project.
This is one of the biggest commercial projects in the world, with constant
trade stacking and accelerated completion dates. Currently have 8 employees
that report to me, have had as many as 15 when necessary. Responsibilities
include ordering material and coordinating its delivery into the job site,
managing manpower, tracking labor and material costs, submitting daily
progress reports, walking completed work and performing QA QC logs to
insure work is meeting all local codes and customer standards. Insuring
that all completion time lines are met. And following up on all site safety
requirements.
